Zarin Mehta, mentor, manager and impresario extraordinaire, I express my most sincere thank you, to you, for all that you have done, contributed and excelled at in your long and impressive career with symphony orchestras in Canada and the USA.

I shall never forget the OSM’s, (L’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal), stunning performance at an arena in Montreal, (a sweltering hot one too!).

At the time, you were far ahead of the rest of the orchestras  in Canada, and, what a brilliant move on your part to take the OSM to the people of Montreal.

I shall also never forget the face to face, one on one mentoring and coaching you shared with me in bringing the L’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal on tour to London, Ontario.

Your mentorship and your willingness to share your knowledge helped to secure a “title sponsor”, in this case, the Bank of Montreal, and that led to a SOLD OUT concert in the auditorium of some 3 to 5000 at the University of Western Ontario.

You were also a visionary in taking on and mentoring young Canadians who were aspiring to become the next generation of symphony orchestra managers of Canadian orchestras as a part of the Canada Council for the Arts Orchestra Managers Training Program in the 1980’s; and for this I also thank you.

Mr. Zarin Mehta your leadership, charisma, and brilliance has dazzled, and sustained, the orchestra world.

You shall be missed.

May all good fortunes find and be with you.

With admiration.
